Endodontics is a field that specializes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases in the pulp, the soft tissue inside your tooth. An endodontist is a dentist who has completed an additional two years of intensive study after obtaining a dental degree. An endodontist practices endodontics exclusively. A Board Certified (Diplomate) endodontist is one who has taken and passed a rigorous additional series of exams administered by the Canadian Board of Endodontics, the certifying board for our specialty recognized by the Canadian Dental Association.
